Bulawayo based afro-dancehall and multi-awards nominee Mandie Mae,20, has released ‘Add Dem Burden’ an afro-dancehall single.
Add Dem Burden (Add a burden upon them) is a song that looks at some of the things most people don’t talk about. It talks about how people will pretend to love and support you just to get something from you but are the same people that try to bring you down and break you.
The song is a fusion of Ndebele (a local language) and patois the popular reggae language. In this song Mandie Mae talks to her fans and encourages them to never stop going higher in life just because of people who discourage them and even try to kill them, but instead make their success stories burdens to such people. The proper English translation of the song title is ‘Add a burden upon them’.
