Years after they disappeared from the limelight, one of Bulawayo’s most entertaining groups Upperklass is still alive this is according to Gucci one of the group members.” Upperklass is still very much alive we are just dealing with a few things individually” says the talented rapper and undoubtedly one of the best hook masters of the new age.

The Joburg based Gucci is currently signed to Tear-dream Fam as an individual where he has released a couple of singles and is also part of the recently released  Traphouse EP which features Bret Rammz, Zoste Kartel who is also their manager, Nick swag,Tuffguy,88.ozzy,Lil Rapper and Zingo lingo.

According to ‘Gucci‘ his brother rapper is taking time off to help their mom run a family business in the party precinct Maboneng where they also reside, ‘Curse Phenomenon‘ has been releasing music and has been working with his own management too, the larger than life and colorful ‘Blacka’ is taking time out to deal with personal issues and when the time is right they will get back in the studio and take over from where they  left off.

The ‘Tapinda Tapinda‘ hit makers stood out with their pop star attitude, dress-code and amazing stage presence, they were always crowd favorites but their attitude made them less desirable to work with as most people complained about them being high most of the time and never on time.

If the current work rate by Gucci, Curse and Real Shona who joined the crew just before the sabbatical is anything to go by the re-union might bring back some exciting days to the hip-hop industry in Bulawayo.
